Residences Redevelopment Programme
Unbuilt was commissioned to develop a compelling creative vision for Viridis Living, a new purpose-built student accommodation scheme for the University of Manchester. The project formed part of a major redevelopment of the Fallowfield campus and aimed to create an environment that felt fresh, youthful, and connected to nature.
Our team delivered a comprehensive brand identity and design strategy, encompassing logo development, colour palette, typography, and full dialogue and bid submission templates. This culminated in the production of a 1000+ page bid submission — a winning proposal that helped secure the next stage of development.

In addition to brand and bid design, we created immersive 3D visuals and interior renders that brought the scheme to life. Drawing from key themes of green, blooming, and verdant, the interiors were styled to feel light, organic, and welcoming, appealing to the lifestyle and aspirations of modern students. From strategic storytelling to visual execution, Unbuilt’s interdisciplinary approach ensured a seamless narrative from concept to pitch.
Working with the Unbuilt team on the bid was a very positive experience. Their offer to place their graphic designers with the bidding team made the whole process much more productive and effective. It was a true collaboration assisted by professional attitude, team spirit and lighthearted humour. Unbuilt’s extensive experience in delivering high profile bids was essential in making key technical decisions related to the document structure. Their contribution to the process went beyond the remit of the graphic design and presentation materials and exceeded
our expectations.
